Certified Gentle Sleep Coach

Hi, I’m Niamh Keane.

I am a passionate Certified Gentle Sleep Coach and a proud mum of 3 kids.

My journey into the world of sleep consulting began in 2022 when my third child was a baby. When my daughter was younger, our family was struggling with sleep deprivation. I found a Sleep Coach to help us, and it transformed our lives. My daughter went from being held to sleep with multiple night wakeups to self-soothing and no night wakeups, in the space of a few weeks.

Through my own experience with my daughters sleep it sparked a passion within me to help other parents to achieve a good night's sleep. I then decided to change career paths from Financial Services to pursue my dream of becoming a Gentle Sleep Coach. I am no stranger to what exhaustion and sleep deprivation can do to a parent. Having gone through it, I fully understand how you might feel, but I know from my own experience how much things can improve, and I would be delighted to help your family get more sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages of children do you work with?

I work with families of babies, toddlers, and young children who are experiencing sleep challenges. Whether you’re navigating newborn sleep habits, frequent night wakings, short naps, or toddler bedtime struggles, I provide gentle, tailored support to help your child develop healthy sleep skills.

What is your sleep-coaching philosophy?

My philosophy is centered around gentle, responsive, and supportive sleep coaching. I believe every child is unique, and there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to sleep. I focus on creating personalized sleep plans that respect your child’s temperament, your parenting style, and your family’s goals while building healthy, long-term sleep habits.

We’re breastfeeding, room-sharing or co-sleeping — will you still work with us?

Absolutely. I work with families from all parenting backgrounds and support your choices without judgment. Whether you breastfeed, room-share, or co-sleep, we can create a gentle sleep plan that feels comfortable, realistic, and aligned with your family’s values.

How quickly will we begin to see improvement?

Every child is different, but many families begin seeing positive changes within just a few days of implementing their sleep plan. Significant improvements often happen within a couple of weeks with consistency and support. My own daughter went from being held to sleep with multiple night wakeups to self-soothing and sleeping through the night within a few weeks — and that transformation is what inspired me to become a sleep coach.

What happens if we have a disruption — travel, illness, developmental leap?

Sleep disruptions are completely normal, especially during childhood. Travel, teething, illness, and developmental milestones can temporarily affect sleep patterns. I’ll help guide you through these challenges and show you how to gently get back on track without feeling like all your progress has been lost.

What’s included in a coaching package with you?

My Full Support coaching package include a detailed sleep assessment, a personalized sleep plan tailored to your child and family, ongoing guidance and support, and troubleshooting along the way. I’ll be there to encourage you, answer questions, and help you feel confident throughout the process.

Will you judge how we’ve been doing sleep so far?

Never. I know firsthand how exhausting sleep deprivation can be because I’ve lived through it myself as a mum of three. My goal is to support and empower you, not judge you. Every family is simply doing the best they can, and I’m here to help make things feel easier and more manageable.

My toddler wakes frequently but only briefly — can you help?

Yes. Even brief but frequent wakings can impact both your child’s sleep quality and your own rest. Together, we’ll explore what may be causing the wakings and create a gentle plan to help your toddler achieve more restful, consolidated sleep.

Is your approach evidence-based and safe for development?

Yes. My approach is based on gentle, developmentally appropriate sleep methods that prioritize your child’s emotional well-being and sense of security. I believe healthy sleep can be achieved in a loving and responsive way, without compromising attachment or connection.

How do we get started?

Getting started is easy. We’ll begin with an initial consultation where we discuss your child’s sleep challenges, routines, and your family’s goals. From there, I’ll create a customized sleep plan and guide you step-by-step toward more restful nights and happier days for the whole family.
